Lead, Staff Research Scientist at Parker Lord
As electric vehicles (EVs) advance in technology, the spotlight is on battery pack technologies. EV manufacturers are fervently optimizing designs for lighter, more compact solutions, aiming to boost energy density and reduce costs. Within the intricate assembly of battery pack systems, two critical requisites emerge: electrical insulation and thermal management. The former involves the strategic application of dielectric materials to ensure safety, while the latter relies on integrating high thermally conductive materials—potting material, adhesives, gap fillers, or gels—to enhance performance and safety. Parker Lord takes a pivotal role, developing cutting-edge thermal management materials and dielectric coatings. This presentation unveils key challenges in the EV industry, spotlighting innovative solutions within dielectric coatings and thermal management adhesives.
